About the price
1. Is the price per adult, and does it include VAT? This alone can change a comparison by 20%. Our wedding packages are shown including VAT.
2. What is included? Ask about chefs, serving staff, bread, tea and coffee, and who clears away. Our wedding packages include chefs, uniformed serving staff and a named catering lead.
3. How are children priced? Many caterers have a children's menu. Ours is a three-course menu for ages 3 to 11.
4. What deposit do you take, and when is the balance due? Get this in writing. We take a deposit to secure your date, and the balance is due 28 days before the wedding.
About the food
5. Can we have a tasting or talk the menu through? A good caterer will help you shape the menu around your guests, not just send a PDF.
6. How do you handle dietary requirements? Vegetarian and vegan guests should get a full meal with the same care, not an afterthought. Ask how allergies are recorded and how plates reach the right guest.
7. Is the food cooked on site or reheated? This makes a real difference to roasts, BBQs and paella. We cook at your venue wherever the setting allows.
8. Can we serve it differently? Plated, family-style sharing, a live BBQ or paella. The right style depends on your venue and the feel of your day.
About the day
9. Who is in charge on the day? You want one named person who knows your timings and works with the venue.
10. What do you need from our venue? Ask about kitchen access, power, water and where the chefs will cook. If your venue is a marquee or a field, this matters even more.
11. When do you need final numbers? We confirm final guest numbers 28 days before the wedding.
12. What about evening food? Evening guests are often forgotten in the budget. Ask what the caterer offers and how it's priced.
Ask every caterer the same questions, then compare like with like: VAT, staff and what's on the plate.
