You don't need to decide much
When someone has died, there are a lot of decisions to make. Food for the wake shouldn't be one of the hard ones. The main things we need are a date, a time, a venue and roughly how many people you expect. We'll guide you through the rest.
What people usually serve
Most wakes have a simple, warming table that people can help themselves to while they talk. Our Celebration of Life table is built for exactly that:
- One warming hot main, such as Beef Scouse with crusty bread and pickled beetroot, or a chicken curry with rice
- A vegetarian alternative, such as meat-free Scouse
- Sandwiches, two triangles per guest
- Savouries and a small sweet selection
It's priced as a package: £500.00 package for 30 guests plus VAT.
How many people to plan for
Numbers at a wake are hard to predict. A good guide is to plan for the people you expect at the service, then take off a few who won't come back afterwards. Give us your best estimate and we'll help you settle on a sensible number.
Short notice
Funerals often come together within days. We can usually cater with two days' notice, so please call even if the date is close. If we can't do it, we'll tell you straight away.
Venues
We cater at homes, church halls, community centres, pubs and function rooms across Liverpool and Merseyside. If the venue has a kitchen, that helps, but it isn't essential.
If you're not sure of anything, call Marco on 0151 230 1600. A five-minute chat is often quicker than a form.
